The University of Melbourne Medical School, as part of Australia's oldest faculty of medicine, dentistry, and health sciences, is internationally acclaimed for its leadership in medical education, research, and health policy. A world-renowned education and research institution, the University of Melbourne's medical school was founded in 1862 as the first medical school to teach undergraduate medicine in the southern dominions of the British Empire.
University of Melbourne Medical School offers 270 Commonwealth-supported places (CSPs) and 30 rural pathway places for the Doctor of Medicine degree. Similar to University of Sydney, University of Melbourne do not use UCAT in the admission process, and students need to score an ATAR of at least 99, and a Grade Point Average (GPA) of above 5.0 to be considered for selection.
