Overview

The University of Otago, based in Dunedin, runs one of New Zealand's two established medical programmes. Its six-year MBChB combines strong biomedical foundations with extensive clinical training across Otago's campuses in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington.

Entry pathway

Most students enter after completing Otago's competitive Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) programme, before applying for selection into the medical programme. A limited number of places are available through other entry categories. Selection considers academic results, the UCAT and other criteria.

With entry highly competitive, a strong HSFY record and UCAT score are essential — exactly where MedView's tutoring and coaching help.
