Every year, thousands of students take the first step towards a career in medicine by applying to medical schools. It’s no easy feat - getting into Australia or New Zealand medical schools, it can be competitive.
Students are assessed on their academic performance in high school, (and first-year university for New Zealand medical schools), their psychometric abilities in the UCAT exam, an in-depth interview to test communication skills and extracurricular learnings.
Aiming for Australia, removes the pre-med year and assess students based on their high school grades, which account for over 50% of a students application!
We can’t stress enough the importance of preparing early and making sure you’re well prepared to tackle the hurdles that lie ahead in the path you’ve chosen.
